Life Lessons Drawn from the Lavender Farm

A Reason to Celebrate

Ever wonder what life would be like without celebrations? Without new beginnings? Since the beginning of time, humans have marked important events in their lives with celebrations. Celebrations, in the form of events, parties, and festivals, represent a means of positive recreation, provide us with traditions and fond memories, and enrich our lives as we draw closer to family and community members.

New Beginnings

Spending time on the lavender farm has helped me become even more aware of how important new beginnings are and the significance they play in our lives. Agricultural societies have often celebrated the arrival of spring, the season of new beginnings--new plants growing in the fields, and new animal life on the farm.

At the Young Living Lavender Farm, we're pleased to continue in the spirit of celebration and hope that you will join us on March 22, 2008, as we celebrate our annual Easter Festival.

Easter Festival

Our spring event is being planned and organized by a very talented group of students from Brigham Young University. These students are pursuing studies in facilities management, travel and tourism, and recreation management. Full of creativity, adventure, and a love of the outdoors, they are eager to help you and your family experience a fabulous time discovering spring at the Young Living Lavender Farm. We encourage you to visit our blog and website often as we post activities that will be available at the Easter Festival.

Spring is so beautiful! I grew up on an orchard so spring time is when I feel most at home with trees blossoming and flowers blooming. I'm excited to plan an event that commemorates a season so near to my heart! Come out and join us, why not make spring special this year!

I don't know what my family would do if it weren't for outdoor events! I grew up participating in outdoor events with my family. I feel like I bond with my family members best when we're outside, enjoying what our bodies can do, appreciating the beautiful earth, and appreciating each other.

One outdoor event that sticks out to me was a family reunion to Yellowstone. I will always love the memories we made durring that family celebration. I grew closer to my family and was constantly in awe of the amazing world we live in.

The best memories I have growing up are from spending time with my family. I am super excited this year to bring my nieces and nephews to our fun Easter Festival and make some more family memories together! This will definitely be a fun event for not just my family, but all families to come and make memories.

Spring is and always has been my favorite season. It's more than a breath of fresh air for someone who gets seasonal depression. Spring is a time of healing and enthusiasm for life. I'm excited to see new ways to celebrate this amazing time of year. My favorite part about Spring is when you can first see the grass under the snow and the trees start to get the buds that will bring back their leaves. The wait is always well worth it and never a let down.

Spring, for me, is a time to shake off the dried crust of winter; a time to view nature as it renews itself. This is the opportunity to renew my thoughts and feelings about my personal life and the potential for personal and family growth and development. As the growth buds of plants start to swell in preparation for their opening, new thoughts and ideas of success swell within our personal and family lives.

Visiting locations such as the Young Living Lavender Farm, provides a venue to contemplate those feelings of renewal and see the smile of nature as she once again puts on her beautiful vegetative coats and inspires all humanity to excel. There are no better places to be inspired in these new beginnings than at locations such as the spring festival at the Young Living Lavender Farm. We, as a group, are anxious for the opportunity to lift and inspire families and individuals in their quest for renewal and excitement in life. Come help us "Discover Spring".

I usually make New Year's Resolutions at the turn of the new year. However, as I look back, the advent of spring seems to be the time when I actually start to take action on my new goals, and it therefore seems like a more logical time to start resolutions. Maybe I will switch!

Spring is such a renewing and refreshing time of the year. It makes me want to go outside and run long distances. And it means I can take my kids outside to play every day again! Having grown up on a farm, spring is also inseparably tied in my mind to lots of hard work with my family. The festivals of spring for me included Easter and Memorial Day - opportunities for large extended family gatherings - as well as the April General Conference of the LDS church, which we also "celebrated" as an extended family. As I am away at school with my own family now, we are beginning our own traditions, and I think Spring Break has become our festival of spring... we always do something special with the week we have off from school.

Spring is a wonderful season that celebrates life. It is an amazing opportunity to go outdoors and enjoy the beautiful world that has been created for us. One of my favorite ways to celebrate spring is to go outdoors with my family and play fun games. I also attend spring musicals where my little cousins dance with cute bunny or flower costumes. I also love spring festivals where you can eat and walk around with your family.
Definitely, the Easter Festival will be a great opportunity to have fun with your family.

I don’t think there is any better way to welcome spring than to celebrate Easter, particularly this year because Easter falls so close to the first day of spring. To me they are synonymous. We always have fresh strawberries on Easter, the perfect sign of the changing seasons. With spring comes the promise of warmer weather and after a particularly cold and snowy winter, spring can be quite exciting. The Easter Festival will be really fun and hopefully the weather will be pleasant enough for people to enjoy being outdoors again.

Our city hosted an outdoor movie night at a local archaeological site where my family was able to gather together and enjoy Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark on a massively large inflatable screen. This was a fun way for us all to get together and learn about archaeology in general as well as specifically about our town’s history.

I love spring, especially after a Utah winter! Last year, on the first warm day in months, my roommate and I went for a walk. We weren't wearing heavy jackets, and we were so excited to be warm that we spontaneously started running down the sidewalk! Being outside in the spring seemed to fill me with energy from all the new life around me.

This Easter Festival will be a wonderful way to experience spring, away from crowded Utah County, at the lovely Lavender Farm. Come!

Growing up my family always loved getting involved in the holidays. We attended May Day festivals, Winter Solstice runs, Halloween parades, and Christmas parties. Being away from home has made me miss these festivities. I am excited for the Easter Festival because it will be a way for me to celebrate spring, even though my family is not with me. I’m looking forward to all the fun activities we have been planning and am excited for those who come to be able to participate in them!

Spring is my favorite time of year not only because of the beautiful flowers and chirping birds, but because it is the first opportunity to get outside and enjoy warm weather activities. As soon as spring arrives I instantly enjoy reading outdoors, bike riding with my children, and gardening.

My family and I have always loved doing things outdoors! There is just something about being surrounded by nature that brought us close together! My favorite time of the year has always been spring and partially the reason why has been the renewal of the world around us. I can picture how amazing the lavenders on the Lavender Farm look once they blossom! I've heard that they just go for miles and it's a field of purple. What a beautiful idea!

Ahh, Spring. All winter I long to see it. To feel it on my face and to breath in its freshness. It is a time of new growth and no matter who you are it is hard not to feel happier. The best way to truly celebrate is to be in it. Enjoy the outdoors with family. And what better way than to attend our Easter Festival.
I love the opportunity we have to plan and carry out this event. Already I have learned much and grow even more excited by the day. It is an event you won't want to miss out on.

I live for the outdoors and even though winter has its charms, it's always refreshing when spring arrives. This morning I heard birds chirping on my way to school...almost made it feel like Spring. It was wonderful.

I'm so excited about the Easter Festival. Our theme "Come Discover Spring" is really what it's all about.

It's a time of renewal and new beginnings. It's especially a time for families. So bring your family to the Easter Festival at Lavender Farms! Spring is waiting!

Spring is a season that brings such happiness!! Flowers blooming and the weather heating up!! Going to parks and having outdoors activities is what characterizes spring.

I like to celebrate Spring mostly via Easter Stuff. My family also enjoys going on a yearly hike around the time of General Conference. My family has enjoyed the closeness outdoor activities brings for many years. We enjoy camping and hiking and other like things that remove distractions from life and allow closeness to be the most important thing.

What I like to do on nice warm spring day, is go outside and lay on the green grass. I love how the sun begins to melt away the layers of cold ice from a long winter. I like to play outside in the warm sunshine and not spend all day in a classroom.

I love spring!!! Everything just shines more- the sun, flowers, and even people. I have been so excited about being a part of this event because we'll all get to experience a little more brightness in our lives. If my family were here I know they would love to attend. We have always loved being together, especially outdoors.

I went to Health and Wellness Expo and got to see the Lavander Farms booth first hand. I really enjoyed the scent of the lemon lavender bath salts and would have bought some but I almost never take baths and when I do I always forget to put in any bath salts that I might have. The rest of the expo was quite interesting and all my hard work and faith payed off when I won a $3,000 scholarship to an Aesthetic school. I was so happy. Sadly though that is not the path in which my life is going so I am giving it to my cousin (yes, it's true they let me pass it off). Expos are great. Lavanders smell good and Spring makes me happy!

My favorite part of spring is the flowers! I work in a flower shop and am around flowers all the time. So when I can see flowers in the gardens, and around campus, it just makes me that much happier. When I think of spring, I think of being outdoors and around the beauty of the earth. It's hard not to have a happier countenance in the spring time, when flowers are blooming and the sun is shining. I love it!

I love Spring! I am apart of the group that has the privilege of organizing and putting on the Easter festival at the lavender farms. There couldn't be a better place to have an Easter festival. Young Living farms represents life and youth. We will try to encapsulate these themes into our event. It is going to be a blast. I hope for your sake you can make it!

One of the few things i remember from my childhood are holidays. These were the most happy times that always somehow seemed magical to me. Easter was one of those holidays where i always felt renewed and refreshed; spring was coming and it was always an exciting time.
I remember always having our traditional easter egg hunt and easter basket hunt. The smell in the air and of the freshly decorated eggs always reminds me of spring and easter. Those food coloring-dipped eggs just have a very distinct smell don't they? i can't wait for spring!

There is no better place to celebrate the spring season than on a beautiful farm! Though the Young Living Lavender Farm was covered in snow when I first was able to get a glimpse of it (& it was still breathtaking then), I can only imagine how beautiful it will be on March 22nd during the Easter Festival! It is going to be so much fun-- my little sisters can hardly wait for the easter egg hunt and pony rides!

I love spring! At home the air is still often crisp, but I love the smell of flowers and the air after it rains. The smells and the new life urge me to spend time outside. I like to walk around and see all of the new plants and flowers that have sprouted. At home I would also walk down to the river and see how the winter storms had changed the banks. This easter festival is a great way to be outside and enjoy the springtime.

Spring, it is the season where everything begins! From blooming flowers to wake-up calls for hibernated animals, Spring is the beginning for all biodiversity. It's inevitable as well as for the lavander farm event. It is really exciting that I would be a part of the project and actually be planning the event. Come and join us to celebrate the Easter like you have never celebrated before.
It will be spectacular, I guarantee!
