Young Living Farm in Ecuador

Unforgettable Amazon Adventure
Are you an adventurous person? Have you recently tried a new sport, traveled to a new place, or learned a new skill? Discovering new activities, visiting foreign countries, and meeting new people make life exciting!

Gary Young, founder and president of Young Living, lives a life full of adventure and passion, traveling the world in search of new discoveries. And when he finds something new, he is always willing and eager to share his adventures and discoveries with others. He has discovered so many new things in Ecuador over the past couple of years while he and his family have been living there, that he planned an Amazon Adventure for distributors to see firsthand all the amazing things taking place there. A few of us from corporate staff accompanied the group last week, and it was absolutely unforgettable!

Training and Tours
Over 300 distributors participated in training sessions led by Gary Young while in Ecuador, and the group also toured the town of BaƱos, the city of Guayaquil, and the Young Living Ecuador Farm, Finca Botanica. The farm covers more than 2,000 acres of virgin land in an area that has an ideal climate for year-round growing. It is an absolutely breathtaking farm! I was in awe of its beauty--lush, green rolling hills, a gorgeous reservoir, and hundreds of acres recently planted with aromatic plants. The Young Living farms are located in ideal areas that provide clean air, rich soil, and ideal climates for growing superior plants and herbs. You can see how beautiful it is in the slide show below. (You may need Flash Player 9 to view it.)

A Solid Foundation from the Ground Up!
Gary Young expressed to the group that, "Young Living is a company that is built on a solid foundation from the ground up. What you have doesn't exist anywhere else!" With four farms in three countries, Young Living continues to devote its resources to developing and growing the purest, finest crops of aromatic plants for the distillation of essential oils. The Ecuador farm will soon grow the plants needed to produce an abundance of essential oils, both from the newly discovered aromatic plants in Ecuador to the plants and oils that are in scarce supply throughout the world.

Farm Contest
We are excited to hear what you have to say and what you want to learn about the farms. Leave a comment with a question you might want answered or an experience you had at one of our farms and you will be entered to win a bottle of RutaVaLa essential oil, which contains some of the first essential oil distilled from the farm in Ecuador! We will choose two winners randomly, so all you have to do is comment by March 14 to be entered into the contest. Winners will be announced in a future blog post, so check back soon to see if you won!

RutaVaLa's Story
RutaVaLa is a proprietary blend of
Ruta graveolens (rue), lavender, and valerian. The Ruta graveolens herb is farmed, harvested, and distilled at Gary Young's farm in Ecuador. Use of the rue herb dates back many centuries and is referenced in the Bible as an herb to be tithed. When combined with lavender and valerian, this trio of essential oils is formulated to relax the body and mind, counter stressed nerves, and revitalize passion.

I'd love to be entered in your draw! My question is, are there any plans for Gary to come to western Canada this year? I'd like to invite him and his family to come to the Calgary Stampede!

I am totally new to Young Living. I just signed up today and would love to win your drawing. The Amazon pictures remind me of West Africa where my daughter works. I hope to use the oils to keep her and many others healthy.

I would love to be entered into the drawing. I ordered a bottle of Rutavala to help with my migraines. It does smell a bit different at first, but you get used to it and it works great. My hubby thought it smelled like Vietnamese food.

What a time we had in Ecuador. To bad the training couldn't have been totally in Banos. Stayed there for 5 days after the event and boy was it wonderful!

What a gift to have had the opportunity to visit Finca Botanica as the grand finale of the Ecuador Training event. Thanks, Jacob for picking me up on your 4 wheeler for a cruise down the dirt road past the sweat lodge, and mega thanks to Gary & Mary for being willing to relocate to the beauty/power/challenges of Ecuador so that we may reap the benefit of new & improved oils & have access to NovaVita Clinic - you inspire us to greatness!
I noticed many similar tropical flowers to Hawaii growing in Ecuador - any plans to distill some of their luscious fragrances liek plumeria/frangiapani, or sweet ginger blossoms?
Aloha,

I love Ruta! The smell is great and my 4 year old doesn't complain when I use it on her or myself!! It's just so relaxing, I put a drop on her brain stem to get her through the tail end of NJ's meeting!!! Thanks Gary! My question is when can a description of the neuro auricular be typed up? Being a massage therapist I'm anxious to use this new technique! I've been probing friends for a demo...

The process of distilling the plants is fascinating to me. I am new to Young Living. How is this done?
I would love to try the RutaLaVa. I have a severe case of Fibromyalgia.
The pictures in the slide show were beautiful. What an adventure. What other plants grow in Equador that you use? Can you tell me anything about the "new discoveries"?

I'd like to be entered into the farm contest - I watched the video re: the Young Living Farm in Ecuador and am curious what the tall green plants are shown just after the young boy on the 4 wheeler and just before the words "A Vision" come up, as well as at the very end of the video...?

Gary, Soo sorry I would have loved to go to visit the farm in Equador, hopefully next time. Last night I attended your Mpls, MN city tour 180 miles from home. I love your oils and hearing your devotion to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the conquest of new plants & oils. People helping people in sickness and in health to get well, stay well and live life to the fullest. I'm praying that along with everything you do for the poor people of Equador the good news that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our salvation is also being shared. Barb MCK

Hi there, I am new to Young Living Essential oils and have just received my kit and am wondering if the new Stress Relief essential oil Rutavalia would be good for a quadraplegic I am working with for stress? I am so eager to get started that I have signed up for many classes. Thanks for putting such great products out for our use. Becky

My husband had to be at the base near Salt Lake for a meeting and I suggested he attend the weekly class at the farm. The "teacher" did a wonderful job and stayed after to answer all questions. She kept her own husband waiting to do this. Wow! Was he impressed with her dedication.

It would be interesting to know if growing lavender in Ecuador would yield a more superior oil than even the wonderful ones from Utah and Idaho.......

I would love to be entered into the drawing. The video looks wonderful. Even from here in Washington...far away from Ecuador, I could feel and smell the freshness of the green plants. I would love to learn the NEW Raindrop technique and I cannot wait to get more exciting news and discoveries. Thank you and God Bless :)

Hello Gary. Thanks for coming to Minneapolis. I wonder what you do for pest and weed control on your farms in Ecuador? This can be a very vexing challenge for organic farming. We appreciate the purity that goes into the cultivation of the Young Living crops. Thanks for the high standards being kept.

Gary's finding treasures in Ecuador is so exciting! I have visited the farm in Utah and I look forward to visiting the ones in Ecuador, France and Saint Mary's in Idaho. RutaVaLa and Palo Santo are adding new dimensions in our YL family and many more are coming soon. Thank you so much, Gary!

The trip to Ecuador was certainly an adventure - even if it wasn't quite the adventure we all bargained for! From start to finish, it kept us totally in-the-moment, requiring flexibility and a willingness to go-with-the-flow. As Mary pointed out to us, their experience in Ecuador has done the same for them. They are constantly tested by weather, local critters, and workers with a different sense of time and responsibility. Nevertheless, they persevere - to bring never-before-distilled essential oils to the world. I hope to return to Ecuador once the distillery is finished and the fields are yielding their bounty. It might be nice to be there in the dry season, too :-)

Count me in for the drawing.

I’m currently reading The Food Revolution by John Robbins, (I highly recommend this book, it’s not an easy read for animals lovers, but the truth is amazing!) So my question is, because I was not fortunate enough to go to Ecuador this year, is there any type of conservation measures already incorporated into the farm? It is a plant-based farm so there’s an A+ right off the bat, specifically I would like a description of the watering techniques used (if there are any at all, I do realize this is the rainforest.) John Robbins makes a startling good point about the lack of our ability to renew this planet’s potable water supply.

And thank you for entering me into the drawing, unlike most, I adore the earthy smell of valerian and haven’t yet had the opportunity to enjoy RutaVaLa.

I would love to be entered in the drawing. The trip to Ecuador looks so neat. Being a farmer's daughter, all I could think of was great dirt! What a great environment to grow plants in. What a great opportunity for the people who live there! Hope I win!

Aloha Young Living friends,
Visiting the farm, clinic, the future school and learning the neuro-aricular were the nuggets of my travels to Ecuador.
Standing deep in the Blue Eucalyptus took my breath away.
I look forward to visiting in the future and taking friends to the clinic.
When I first applied RutaVaLa to clients feet. The smell was not one of the sweet ones they usually enjoyed. However, when I applied RutaVaLa to my brainstem and mastoid process before bed, I was amazed how much I enjoyed the sweet different scent.
Palo Santos is another of my favorite oils. Standing with Gary and the group in the small Palo Santos forest was magical. The devas and fairies abound.
I would love to enjoy a training on the farm. Fresh air, expanded energies, etc.
How about a retreat center on the farm???
Blessings,
Elizabeth

I recently atteded Gary's seminar in Detroit, Michigan. I was blessed by his gentle demeanor, inspired by his giving spirit and taken with his passion for knowledge of the makeup of living plants.

I look forward to visiting the farm in Ecuador. My husband and I traveled to Ecuador in 2003, hiked through the jungle, climbed mountains and were graciuosly welcomed by Ecuadorian people.

Young Living has assisted me in my practice and in my personal life.
