Did You Know
...that throughout history lavender has symbolized cleanliness? During the First World War when modern antiseptics were depleted, the public was asked to gather up garden lavender so the oil could be used to dress war wounds.
Benefits of Natural Lavender Soap
Lavender essential oil is a base in many soaps because of its natural antiseptic properties and pleasant fragrance. Natural is the way to go, but you'll only get the benefits and potency of pure, therapeutic-grade lavender essential oil with Young Living's Lavender Rosewood Bar Soap. It's oh so perfect!
Synthetic Chemicals in Bar Soaps can Cause Health Problems
My latest copy of UC Davis Magazine (Spring 2008) reports on a new UC Davis study that shows that a "common antibacterial chemical added to bath soaps can alter hormonal activity in rats and in human cells in the laboratory." (Click here for the full article.) Good reason to go natural!

Sorry I'm new to this posting comments and I posted my comment under the latest reseach in lavender instead of under this post, and I'm not sure how to move it.

How is the Lavender Rosewood soap made? Does it contain animal by-products?
Seems like everywhere you go now a days gives you more and more reasons to wash your hands. You push a grocery cart, you use the railing to go down stairs, you touch a doorknob, a button, or use a phone after someone who is sick. On and on it goes giving you more and more reasons to wash your hands. Thank goodness YL has natural soaps. I love the all.

How much Rosewood is in the soap? We use the Thieves bar soap and foaming hand soap a lot. We wash our hands frequently, especially when coming home from a public place.
Lavender Rosewood soap is a wonderful way to take in the essential of Lavender. This is a good soap to use before retiring for bed because it helps in relaxation. I haven't thought about using this soap for handwashing. Handwashing is important though and should be done several times thoughout the day. I have heard that washing your hands is a major preventative to getting the cold.
I love lavender! It is so healing for the skin as well as being antiseptic. I have made soap before at home in small batches, so I'm curious as to the method YL uses.
Can't wait to try the Lavender Rosewood soap. When turning 40, I started noticed fine lines and wrinkles. About 2 years ago, I started using Lavender, Rosewood, and Rose Ointment on my face after washing. Now I don't notice lines and wrinkles. I am 47, but have been told I look 35. Look forward to checking out the soap to see what it does for my face and the rest of my body!
My grandmother left me with three tidbits of wisdom: always stand up tall, always wash your hands, and always blot your lipstick! I can't say I always do the third one - but I know, and science is continually proving, the importance of the first two.

We love rub a dub dub in the tub!

YL lavender soap is great for leaving a nice scent on your skin.

Yum! Lavender Rosewood soap. Excited to give it a try. I love the Lemon-Sandlewood, Thieves and Sacred Mountain Soaps. They are definately aroma-therapy in the shower.
Would like to know the other ingredients of the Lavender Rosewood soap.

It the soap safe for septic systems? We stopped using anti-bacterial in our house because:
1)it killed the bacteria needed in a septic tank to do its job
and
2)lead to "super bugs" that nothing could kill
Sometimes I brush my teeth with the lavender soap.
As a nurse,I KNOW the importance of frequent handwashing, and do so countless times during the day. I remind my famiy and others how this simple hygienic practice helps prevent the spread of germs. ~ I LOVE the purity of Young Living products.~Rose~ NYS
With all the superbugs going around these days, handwashing is one of our best defenses. Since the "supers" are resistant to many antibacterials, we can best protect ourselves and our families by using natural soap made with essential oils and following good handwashing pratices. Lavender Rosewood soap really is good for us!
I own my own massage and bodywork business and hand washing is very important. I wash my hands before and after every client. The lavendar/rosewood combination in the bar soap is so great for the skin, it inspired me to make my own massage oil using lavender and rosewood. It is my most asked for massage oil. I also added patchouli and Ylang Ylang to it. My clients' even buy it for their homes. I feel it grounds me and nourishes my body mind and spirit. As a massage therapst my hands need to be verry soft, even though I have to wash them 30 times a day at the least. The lavendar/rosewood compliments each other and helps to cleanse the energy in between clientelle.
I LOVE lavender! And love the idea of washing with lavender for the wonderful aroma as well as the anti-septic qualities. This would be great for washing those little scrapes and cuts too. Looking forward to trying this combo bar!

I have already been using the Lavender Rosewood soap this month, for my shower soap.
I have gotten incredibly dry skin since I enter my 50's; nothing else seemed to really help!
Since I started using this Lavender Rosewood soap, it has made a tremendous difference for me!
Each time I use it I notice my skin is less and less dry!
Thank you for this blessing in my life!
And it smells sooo wonderfully, too!!

Yay for no sulfates! They make my psoriasis worse and spread. I'm so glad YL makes their soaps with no sulfates.
Can't wait to try this soap. Sounds wonderful!
suzetteHow does young living,s lavender rosewood bar soap compare to their other bar soaps & the thieves foaming hand soap?

I remind my four youngest sons that the easiest, most effective way to prevent the spread of germs/sickness is to wash your hands, especially with a quality soap like Thieves. I love both the foaming liquid and the bar soap. I have also enjoyed using the Lemon-Sandalwood bar soap and look forward to trying the Lavender Rosewood! Of course if my boys forget my advice on handwashing - we follow up with extra NingXia Red and a few drops of the Thieves Essential Oil.
I love the YL soaps, though I haven't tried the Lavender Rosewood yet. The price may seem a bit steep, but I know the quality more than makes up for it. Thank you Young Living for putting purity and quality before cost!

Being in the dental profession I know how important hand washing and infection control is. I do not like to use the anti-bacterial hand soaps on the market because of the triclosans so I use Thieves foaming hand soap. Even with wearing gloves some of my patients will comment on the pleasant smell and that gives me the opportunity to start talking about essential oils.

I love the smell of lavender and rosewood, What a nice combination, I am slowly switching all my products to yl,s I am seeing so many nice results. Thanks for finding the best in nature..
What a great combination of essential oils !!! Both are antibacterial and help with skin conditions. Both of these essential oils are calming - what a combination.

Is the Lavender Rosewood soap safe to use on newborns? I would really love to use it on my new baby son!
Hey Linda,
I would not hesitate to use this lavender-rosewood on a baby. My "baby" is 21 in June, so I have to wait for grandchildren in a way. As a postpartum doula and having finally invested in this soap, I LOVE It too. It is obviously safe; lavender and rosewood are skin friendly oils anyway, and the whole soap is so gentle and nourishing. I'm so pleased to have a gentle soap like this that lasts too - the bar doesn't disintigrate after a few washings, and the scent doesn't get lost. YL has done a really nice job with this soap - "safe enough to eat"!
I love the smell of lavender, and my five year old daughter does as well. I try to get a nice smelling soap so that she is more likely to wash her hands. Lavender usually does the trick! can't wait to try out the soap.
As a Registered Nurse and mother of 4 children the importance of cleanliness and particularly handwashing is a priority for me. I LOVE all of the FANTASTIC products that Young Living has provided me with in order to safely and effectively carry out this important safeguard. I would Love to try the Lavender Rosewood bar soap.

My dad has had many precancerous growths removed from his face, and from this had developed a lot of embarrassing scars on his face that accumulated over the years. After a few days of using the Lavender-Rosewood soap, the scars began disappearing, and newer pre-cancerous growths fell off & disappeared. His skin now looks younger and smoother. He's grateful for his lavender soap.
