Lavender Honey Recipes

We're excited to announce that our lavender honey is now available for purchase! Our gourmet lavender honey is absolutely delicious on pastries, in desserts, or for basting poultry or fish. This delicious, natural sweetener will delight your taste buds!

I will be sharing several lavender honey-themed recipes over the next few posts, so be sure to check back often.

Young Living Lavender Honey Salmon

Ingredients:
1/4 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1/2 teaspoon dried leaf thyme
1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped
Dash salt
Freshly ground black pepper
1/4 cup Young Living Lavender Honey
Olive oil for pan
4 salmon fillets

  1. Combine oil, herbs, and seasonings in a small bowl. Cover and refrigerate for a few hours or overnight.

  2. Combine the oil mixture with the lavender honey in a large food storage bag; place salmon fillets in the mixture, turning to coat well.

  3. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or up to 4 hours.

  4. Heat oven to 375 degrees

  5. Heat about 1 Tablespoon of olive oil in a large ovenproof skillet; sear the salmon, skin side down, for about 4 minutes. Move the skillet to the oven and cook, uncovered, for about 12 minutes, or until salmon flakes with a fork. It will cook a little more when removed from the oven, so don't overcook. [Serves 4]

Farm Tours

Over the past few months we have hosted several groups who have toured the Young Living Lavender Farm. It's exciting to have visitors from around the globe who come to learn about our farming and production of therapeutic-grade essential oils. (To learn more about therapeutic-grade, please visit Young Living's new Product Blog.)

Most recently, we had Agricultural Agents from universities and states around the country touring our facilities. Their main comment is always how impressed they are with the crops and distillation process here at our farm.

In addition to professors and professionals visiting our farm, we host tours for pre-schoolers, schools, and any other group with an interest in learning about our specialty crops, gardening, herbs, essentials oils, and our fabulous events.

To schedule a free tour, please call the Visitors Center at 1-800-371-0819. The Visitors Center is open year-round, so stop by to see us!

Parades and Pageantry

I have some exciting news to share with our readers! As you may or may not be aware, our lavender farm participates in many local parades, building awareness of our farms, crops, and products, as well as strengthening relationships with our local community. This past weekend (Labor Day) was our final parade of the season, and WE WON the SWEEPSTAKES AWARD!

Our beautiful lavender fairies continue to delight all ages with their enthusiasm for all things lavender! Tricia and I had the grand privilege of being the official "pooper scoopers" for the horses in our entry. We're wondering when and how that got added to our job descriptions...oh well, it's all a part of farming, isn't it? We'll always remember this parade at least!
